Tablets have quickly become one of the most popular options for both personal and professional use. While these devices have been around for many years, it was not until the popular iPad was released that this type of technology has truly taken off. For anyone that will be using their tablet for their business, there are a few features to remain aware of that could make these devices invaluable in the professional arena.

iPads are currently in their third generation and one of the most popular tablet PCs that are currently available today. In addition to having an enormous application market, users will also enjoy the interconnectivity that they have with all other Apple devices. With a pre-installed cloud server, users can access files across their iPhones, iPads, Macbooks, and a number of other Apple products.

Following close behind these tablets are Galaxy Tabs and Blackberry Playbooks. Each of these options has a lower price, but they also have a robust application market with a number of useful programs. The HDMI port on the Playbook may be essential for those that will be using their tablets for presentations while the ability to run Flash on these two tablets often makes web surfing much easier.

When purchasing a tablet, it is also important to understand their limitations. They do not currently come with internal disc drives that will be able to run or burn blank Blu-Ray discs or other forms of DVD R media. Owners will need to find wired or wireless options for their printers, larger displays, better speakers, expansive hard drives, and disc drives.
