Converting Videos to Different Formats
With modern technology, no one needs to struggle with second-rate videos that they have recently downloaded from the internet or filmed themselves. While it was not many years ago that low quality videos were something that could not be helped, advanced software allows all users to quickly convert their videos into any format that they would like for professional looking and sounding films. Here is a quick look at the easiest ways to convert saved films into almost any format.
When determining the quality of a video, there are a few important features to look at. The first is the amount of frames that can be displayed per second. Most videos are around 24 FPS and the human eye can pick up changes at around 16 FPS or lower. The color depth is a reference to the overall range of colors that can be displayed by the video. Finally, the bit rate of the video determines how seamlessly and subtly the color depth is interpreted by the eye due to a higher or lower bit rate.
To convert videos to different formats, there is both free and paid software. Free software is often best for less essential school projects or old family videos that an individual would like to improve. This software automatically increases the quality of the video with preconfigured settings. Professional software will allow the user to change everything from the FPS of the video to the bit rate and color scheme. These HD videos can then be burned onto archival DVDs or Blu Ray media discs.
