This 230M AIT-2 Data Cartridge, offers an uncompressed capacity of 50GB (100GB Compressed). Its data transfer rate attains 6MB/s when used with the SDX-500C AIT2 drive. A 64-bit memory chip is embedded in the tape cartridge to store a table of contents and file location information. The tape features two coatings to guarantee high performance: a 100% cobalt dual magnetic layer, which assures high output, and a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) protective layer that increases durability and archivability.
